Stuart Ravnik, PhD is Associate Dean for Students at the UT Southwestern Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences He received his BS in Biology and PhD in Biochemistry, both at the University of Washington in Seattle. After a post-doctoral fellowship in Genetics at Columbia University, Dr. Ravnik ran his own lab at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center prior to joining the Dean staff at UT Southwestern in 2002. Since then, Dr. Ravnik has focused his career towards student affairs, science communication and outreach, and graduate education, especially in the Responsible Conduct of Research. He advocates for biomedical science training through his teaching and mentoring in research training programs for undergraduate and graduate students. He actively teaches, mentors and practices science communication, especially science story telling - "Every science story can be a great science story"
