Stories by:

Jim Search is a comedian, writer, and producer. Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, and now residing in Brooklyn, NY, he started pursuing a career in comedy in the New York City circuit in 2010. He brings his indelible story to life for those seeking laughter and change so they can be entertained while being encouraged to think.

After cutting his teeth at bar shows, open mics, and making guest appearances at clubs, he was a semi-finalist in NBC's "StandUP NBC" in 2011. Following this, he continued to see success in appearing in the Milwaukee Comedy Festival in 2011, the Hoboken Comedy Festival in 2014, and the Fun Fun Fun Fest in 2015.

Following his popular podcast “Shut It Down: The Bar Rescue Recap Show,” in 2019, he appeared on Paramount TV’s “Bar Rescue” as a bar expert. Then, in 2024, he brought his hilarious musings to Sirius XM’s “Ctrl-Alt D-Stroy” as a guest.

In addition to performing at comedy clubs across the country, he wrote, produced, and starred in the play “Jessie The Catfish: A Comedy.” Also, he released two projects, both independently. The book titled “Grad School: A $70,000 Phone Charger” and the comedy album “Upstate Understandings.” Jim is a co-host of a monthly stand-up comedy show called “Muddy Waters” in Brooklyn, NY, and hip hop trivia night “Trivmatic.” He is the host of the podcast “Open Bar Talk With Jim Search” and co-host of "Swatches And Boomboxes” and “Understanding Upstate.”

Christiana Jackson is a New York based standup who’s been performing for 11 years. Her comedy is a mishmash of one liners, random international facts, and personal stories. Christiana has been in several comedy festivals, on Bravo, and made her short film debut last year.

Karen Holmberg grew up on a back-to-the-land farm on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay with 40 acres of oyster grounds in the river. For my childhood self, the tidal plan was the most boring place I could imagine, especially after I found a book with a chapter about Pompeii and Vesuvius and decided that volcanoes were the most exciting, dramatic lens into our dynamic Earth imaginable. As a volcanologist and archaeologist focused on radical environmental changes, I have worked in and made research trips to a wide range of geologically fascinating parts of our planet. These include Antarctica, Borneo, Papua New Guinea, El Salvador, Panama, Indonesia, South Africa, and Patagonia. My current volcanic focus is the caldera of Campi Flegrei near Naples, Italy, which is confronting in that it is so massive that you stop seeing it. Hundreds of thousands of people live inside of it without fully understanding its risks. I live in New York City, though, and I have started to come full circle and appreciate how truly dynamic, dangerous, and magical coastal areas in our era of sea-level rise truly are.

Adam Selbst is an award-winning designer, writer and storyteller. He’s performed on The Moth, PBS, Risk!, The Artichoke and a whole bunch of other shows around NYC. He also ran the popular Big Irv’s Storytelling Roadshow from his bodega art collective in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for over 10 years, before retiring the space during the pandemic. He currently resides in a big house with, like, a thousand friends and a single problematic cat.
