Juan Carlos Martinez, Jr. Originally from NYC, Juan Carlos now resides in Tacoma, WA. He is a proud graduate of Stony Brook University Go Seawolves! He has a background in stand up comedy and has been the host of the Revisionary Podcast since 2020.
Eric Scott Nealy, PhD is from Los Angeles, CA, and moved to Seattle in 2013 to pursue his doctoral degree at the University of Washington. He completed his degree in 2021 and is now a postdoctoral researcher at Seattle Children's Research Institute. His work centers around children with brain cancer and he’s investigating on methods that can teach their immune system to identify and eliminate brain tumor cells remaining after surgery. This is potentially a safer and more effective treatment for eliminating tumor cells compared to chemotherapy and radiation, which can harm the patient. Both of Eric's parents battled with cancer, which motivates him to continue on this challenging research journey. Eric is a passionate advocate for promoting diversity and representation in science and, ultimately, changing the public perception of what a scientist looks like. Eric was inspired by his passionate Black teachers and mentors, who encouraged him to go to college and pursue a career in science despite the lack of representation. He plans to continue this legacy through teaching, mentoring, and outreach.
