Storytellers:

Emily Pitts tells stories of all shapes and sizes. From 99 seconds to a one hour shows. When she's not jotting down notes for stories, she's working on a manuscript showcasing trees or co-producing comedy shows in Iceland. In her spare time she teaches middle school.

Saloni Singh’s storytelling started when she was 2 yrs old when her mother found her distracting a large group of guests at a wedding with a story that combined Snow white, Cinderella and Thumbelina as one character in a tale she was making up on the spot – needless to say the wedding was delayed and the bride wasn’t happy. Growing up in India, where storytelling was seen as an annoying albeit adorable habit but not a passion area to be nurtured, Saloni channeled her passion for story telling into the corporate world where it became her competitive advantage. She has since worked across 5 industries in 3 different geographies, founded and sold a startup and (she likes to joke) sold everything from shampoo to complicated tech. By day, she is one of the youngest Partners in a tech world leader but she spends most of her personal time as an advocate for D&I, as a board member for a non-profit working on mental health, a mentor for startup founders and a CASA (court appointed special advocate) for foster kids. She has also produced a Vagina Monologues show and hosted a TedEx event. Earlier this year she stumbled upon Moth and has won a few Story Slams since. This is her first story at Story Collider.

Although Mark Shone is a relative newcomer to storytelling, his background includes experiences that lend themselves to participating in this wonderful art form. Mark has been an educator since 1991 with a variety of roles and titles in and beyond the classroom. He is a cast member of Unexpected Productions, an improvisational theater group in Seattle. Mark grew up in New York and moved to Seattle in 1999, and he names rugby, ballroom dance, and world languages as avocational pastimes.

Silvana Clark’s storytelling career began in high school when she made up creative stories to get out of boring classes. Since then she’s gone on to write 12 books, travel to 63 countries and train her dog to star in TV commercials. Silvana has told stories to groups ranging from the Canadian Llama Association to the American Sunbathing Society. (Yes….nudists.) She’s trying to figure out how to tell a story about when she was a recreation major and had to dissect a cadaver. No gloves provided in those days!

Kacie Rahm grew up in beautiful Lake Chelan, WA before attending Western Washington University, receiving a B.A. In Creative Writing. She spent a year in the Republic of Georgia teaching English before returning to WA and settling in Seattle. Kacie entered the storytelling community via The Moth, serving as the Seattle Regional Producer for three years. She has since performed in numerous storytelling shows, and acted as a coach and Assistant Director for the NAMI Washington "Brainpower Chronicles" mental health storytelling program. Kacie is a Seahawks season ticket holder, Podcaster, and world traveler. She lives in Beacon Hill with her 16-year-old chihuahua, Sula.
