Liz Wills-O'Gilvie works across silos to inform food system policy, systems & environmental change opportunities to eliminate systemic racism from the food system and everywhere else. Liz is a land steward, farmer, dreamer, and believer. Liz is a proven Food System Pollinator and Systems Change Agent with demonstrated success in policy and systems change wiht a unique ability to identify opportunities for community engagement and advocacy at local, state, and national levels improvements.
Richard Little has a Masters Degree in Geology from the Univ. of Southern California in Los Angeles. His graduate work involved investigating sedimentary rocks and landscapes along the Indian Ocean coast of Iran where he climbed rare mud volcanoes. In 1969 he came to the Connecticut River Valley and discovered the rare Jurassic armored mud balls while teaching at Greenfield Community College where he is now Professor Emeritus. He actively promotes the rich geological history of the region through classes, lectures, books, and videos. He has led small group tours to amazing landscapes from Alaska to Scotland, but considers the Connecticut Valley of Massachusetts to be the best place in the world to study geology. Ask him to prove it.
Maureen Begley is a comedian and musician from Springfield, MA. Maureen has featured around the Western Massachusetts area at venues like The Bing Theater, Club V, and the 13th Floor. She was a finalist in Comedy As A Weapon’s Comedy Royale, and she tackles difficult topics like sobriety and mental health with contagious joy. She also produces a podcast called Stars of the States that tells the stories of musicians from each state in the U.S.
Brittany Peterson is a lifetime nature-lover turned wildlife refuge manager, whose career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has contributed to her on adventures from Alaska to Alabama, with quite a few stops in between. The crux of her curiosity is learning about the crazy web of connections that make up the natural system, and the human-thread in that web that connects us to it. Brittany is a proud University of Tennessee Alumni, former wildlife-calling competitor, petter of critters and poker of weird things, who was raised by people who loved a good story and a healthy dose of humor. In her free time she enjoys creating, traveling, and exploring the wonders of this world.
Kerrita K. Mayfield has been an art and science educator her entire adult life, and since she is the big sister - likely longer. Recently, her science students made up a song (and accompanying dance) whose title and lyrics are: Dr. Mayfield was wrong. She likes it. It is on her bulletin board.
