Brittany120719.jpg

Brittany Lundberg is back in her hometown of Chicago after recently getting her B.A. in English from the University of Illinois. She's now working at her first big girl job as an editorial assistant at the Society of Critical Care Medicine--a wonderful scientific society that is committed to helping critically injured or ill patients and their health care professionals. During the interview process, Brittany was told she had a leg-up because she was "sick and injured so dang much." Less important accomplishments include her award-winning research on dystopian literature, her self-started writing collective, and six grueling years of customers service--all of which have given fuel to Brittany's storytelling fire.

Diana Burdette was born and raised in California living in most major cities up and down the coast. Her travels East took her to Las Vegas where she worked with the Las Vegas Monorail as a Public Relations Coordinator before her move to Chicago. During her time in Chicago Illinois, Diana met and married her best friend and biggest supporter, and opened a Fair Trade Organic Coffee shop in Logan Square. A first of its kind in the area. Their plan to continue their education brought them to Waukegan in 2010.  As a resident of Waukegan Diana was an advocate for Natural Cesarean Section procedures, and breastfeeding for all. She was also a supporter and educator of babywearing. While completing her BA with a focus on Communication, Organization, and Leadership she also began taking on Environmental Justice issues local to Lake County working as a volunteer activist and organizer. Her passion to bring equity and inclusion to all residents of Lake County have led her to run for the office of Illinois House of Representatives District 60, and she is currently running a campaign to unite the voices of the community to provide a space where all voices can be heard.
