Hana Ayoob is an illustrator, producer, trainer and speaker. She is happiest working at the intersection between art and science, whether that’s curating a panel discussion, putting together a science-themed stand up night or spending hours on a drawing of the human sinuses superimposed on a moth. Hana co-hosts the science and technology podcast Why Aren’t You a Doctor Yet? and is a co-founder of Minorities in STEM, a UK network which supports and showcases BAME individuals working and studying in STEM.

Virginie Uhlmann is fascinated by life sciences but feels more comfortable surrounded by equations and code than by pipettes. With her research group at the EMBL-EBI, she thus develops mathematical tools and algorithms to analyse biological images. Besides science, her true loves are mountains and birds.

Andrew Plygawko is a PhD student at the Gurdon Institute in Cambridge, working on the eggs of fruit flies to try and understand how their bodies become asymmetric. Outside of the lab he enjoys playing acoustic music, and getting beaten at board games.

Riva Riley is a zoology researcher from the American Midwest. She studies freshwater fish (which are totally underrated) and her research pertains to communication- she essentially studies how fish make friends. Throughout her time in the field and the lab, she has made fishy friendships with all sorts of creatures (including some other humans).

Joachim Klement is an investment strategist based in London. Throughout his professional career, Joachim focused on asset allocation, economics, equities and alternative investments. But no matter the focus, he always looked at markets with the lens of a trained physicist who became obsessed with the human side financial markets.
