We go to the doctor to get better, to assure ourselves that we're not sick, to have company -- and usually (shockingly often, in fact) it works brilliantly. But sometimes events don't go the way they should, the medicine doesn't quite work or it goes horribly wrong. And those are the moments that reveal more about the world and ourselves than we ever wanted to know.
