Hudson River Park’s Discovery Tank is an interactive technology-powered gallery and classroom at Pier 57. This new space invites visitors of all ages to explore the Hudson River environment virtually. The Discovery Tank is located at the end of Pier 57. Please enter through the south entrance glass doors and walk through the market to the end of the hall. The Discovery Tank will be on your right after the bathrooms.
Crenshaw White is one of New York’s top rising middle aged comics. He began stand up comedy in Los Angeles in 2017. Seeking new opportunities and challenges, he made the move to New York City to continue pursuing his comedic dreams. What sets Crenshaw’s comedy apart is experience as a mental health counselor; his unique perspective infuses his performances with a refreshing blend of insight and wit.
Devan Sandiford is a published writer, award-winning storyteller, and community activist. His stories have been featured in The Washington Post, NPR, The Moth Podcast, Story Collider, Simple Families Podcast, Speak Up Storytelling, and elsewhere. He is an alumni of and former writer-in-residence at the Voices of Our Nations Arts Foundation (VONA), a finalist for The Kenyon Review Developmental Editing Fellowship for Emerging Writers, and a recipient of the Corporeal Writing Scholarship for Writing Trauma Toward Healing and Joy with Terese Maria Mailhot. He has a poem in the anthology Excitement and Talisman (2023) and an essay in the anthology Bodies of Stories (2022). Devan has contributed his opinions on race, identity, grief, parenting, and storytelling for articles in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Slate Magazine. He has received acclaim from multiple New York Times bestselling authors, including Roxane Gay, who called him "an excellent writer who will be endlessly interesting to his readers." Devan lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and their two sons and works as a story developer at The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He loves brunch, biking in a morning chill, bookstore crawls, and being roasted on his birthday.
Luke Strathmann is an NYC-based writer and comedian, and currently leads the communications team at Yale’s Department of Economics. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, McSweeney’s, and Points in Case. In his new solo show “Econ 101: Beanie Babies & Beyond,” he explores how he lost everything in the great Beanie Babies Market Crash of 2000, and has since spent his life studying economics to figure out what happened.
Nik Narain is an emerging science communicator and senior at Duke University studying Physics and Cinematic Arts. With a background in neuroscience research, Nik is dedicated to science engagement through all forms of media. Nik has worked numerous SciComm odd "jobs," from his column in the Duke Chronicle, to assisting in science demonstrations at Durham schools, to working at an LGBTQ+ STEM advocacy nonprofit, to performing around the Triangle (and sometimes country) as a comedian and drag artist. Nik hopes to spend as long as possible making media about science professionally and finding news ways of blending science and art together. He is a long-time Story Collider fan and he's super excited to share his science story on the Pier57 stage!
Ronna Levy is a Brooklyn-based storyteller. She is newly retired English professor and has happily made the shift from telling stories in the classroom to telling stories on the stage. She has appeared on PBS online Stories from The Stage, RISK, and she is a 2x Moth StorySLAM winner. She also co-hosts a monthly open mic in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Ronna is thrilled to be telling a story with Story Collider.
