Stories by:

Amisha Patel is a storyteller, entrepreneur, lawyer, creator, and connector. Her relentless curiosity and love of adventure have led her down a pretty winding path. After building three retail brands driven by a passion for artisanal textiles, women’s empowerment and art, she retreated into a cave (metaphorical and sometimes actual) to work on an indefinitely forthcoming memoir about destiny, family curses and love. Before all of that, she crusaded for justice (and big banks), covered NY runway shows for CBC, and used a counterfeit pen to do an all cash sale of a DeKooning. She is starting on a new project called The 80s Museum even though, or maybe because, she believes time is an illusion.

Anna is a naturalist and aquatic entomologist. Going to school in Utah gave her the opportunity to learn about migration patterns of mule deer, moose, elk, and pronghorn through GPS collaring initiatives led by the Department of Natural Resources. Monitoring the restoration of a canyon after wildfires, flash floods, and debris flows bolstered her knowledge of the resilience of native flora and fauna to historical natural disaster regimes. Now Anna gets to connect to the parks and people within NYC, as well as challenge herself through a doctoral program studying the evolutionary history of stoneflies. These insects are fundamental to maintaining the health and balance of freshwater ecosystems, but many populations around the globe are experiencing substantial declines due to human interference and climate change.

Jameer Pond is a storyteller and Video Director for Vanity Fair. He is currently Touring with The Moth.
