Stories By:

Marjie Alonso is the former Executive Director of the International Association of Behavior Consultants and its Foundation. For decades, she promoted evidence-based education, developed professional standards in the field, and acted as a “civilian-to-scientist” facilitator in all things animal behavior and training. She recently retired and is now writing full-time, which means spending more time telling the stories she loves to tell.

Julie Baker is a Boston-based writer and producer. After competing in and winning her first Story Slam in 2017, she quickly became a storytelling addict and evangelist. She’s performed on PBS Stories From the Stage, The Moth, Now Listen Here, YouTube (@bluechakrastories), Instagram (@lazyjulie), and anywhere else where people will let her tell stories. She considers it her mission to expand the storytelling community and spread the word about how true, personal stories can change the teller and the world.

Harold Cox likes to tell stories about tiny, goofy things that have happened to him. It seems that his whole life is filled with many tiny, goofy things. He has told stories on many stages, including The Moth, RISK!, Riot, and Massmouth. Harold is a professor of public health at Boston University’s School of Public Health.

Craig Spencer is an emergency medicine physician and public health professor at Brown University. He’s spent most of his career working in humanitarian response, providing healthcare amidst conflict and disease outbreaks across the globe. He teaches on the lessons unlearned in global health and is unwavering in his belief that everyone everywhere deserves access to quality healthcare.
