As part of the #NatureForAll Storytelling Festival, the Story Collider is thrilled to be putting on an evening of true, personal stories about science that focus on the love of nature and how that love inspires us toward conservation.
The Show is also a side event at the 5th International Marine Protected Areas Congress.

Moronke Harris is an Oceanography PhD Student at the University of Victoria (BC, Canada) who returned to academia after working in industry on climate engineering and multi-vessel research expedition planning. Her research focuses on the most unexplored areas of the ocean—specializing in hydrothermal vent ecosystems 1000-4000 meters under the ocean's surface. Beyond academic pursuits, she’s a science-communication enthusiast and avid visual artist ‘The Imaginative Scientist’. Emily Poulin is a producer, comedian, and storyteller in Vancouver, BC. They are a producer on the monthly storytelling show Replay, as well as a comedian around local venues in Vancouver. Frankie Marquez is the Manager for Alumni Engagement for Ocean Wise's Ocean Bridge program, which provides direct experience in ocean conservation and public engagement through the lens of community service. She works with 800+ ambassadors across Canada that have completed an Ocean Bridge program and empowers them to continue taking action for our oceans. Frankie is passionate about the role dialogue plays in conservation and uses justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as building blocks of programming that she designs. Her career goal for the future is to support ocean conservation focused community and capacity building opportunities internationally.
Neha Acharya-Patel is a passionate ocean advocate, scientist, and professional SCUBA and free diver. Currently, she's working on her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Victoria. Her research is in developing environmental DNA (eDNA) methods to assess the health of the oceans. While not pondering science questions she spends as much time as she can in the water. She has participated in diving expeditions around the world, and was the first Canadian recipient of the North American Our World Underwater Scholarship. She also co-founded the Canadian chapter of the ECOP programme; a global initiative aimed at bringing early career voices to higher level conversations. Learn about her work at https://nehaap.com/
