Kevin Allison is the creator and host of the live show and podcast RISK!, where people tell true stories they never thought they'd dare to share in public, since 2009, and the editor of the book RISK!, published by Hachette. He is also the founder of The Story Studio, a school for storytelling for performance, for business, and for personal growth. Kevin is a member of the legendary sketch comedy troupe, The State, known for their hit series on MTV, and has also appeared on Cobra Kai, High Maintenance, Comedy Bang Bang, Flight of the Conchords, Viva Variety! and in the movies Reno 911! Miami, The Ten, and Wedding Daze.

 

Melissa Surach has a degree in Mathematics but she never uses it. She has an MFA in Writing Fiction, which is also not very handy. Melissa lives in her hometown, Jersey City, NJ. She does stand up and musical comedy, but mostly she sells booze.

 

Dave Kalema is a digital storyteller and upcoming filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Most recently, he was the founder of Coin Flyp Media, a video-first media company for the untold, personal stories of change that athletes experience after sports. As a former college athlete and National Champion, Dave used the power of video to help former college, NBA, NFL, and Olympic athletes share personal stories of reinvention. Dave is a 2-time StorySlam Champion at the Moth and is currently working on his first documentary. He is passionate about using visual storytelling to highlight where change meets identity and belonging for underrepresented voices.

 

Latasha Wright received her Ph.D. from NYU Langone Medical Center in cell and molecular biology. She continued her scientific training at Johns Hopkins University and Weill Cornell Medical Center. She has co-authored numerous publications, presented her work at international and national conferences. BioBus enables Latasha to share her love of science with a new generation of scientists. Latasha spearheaded the creation of the first BioBase community lab, the BioBus internship program, and our Harlem expansion. Everyday that Latasha spends teaching students about science in this transformative environment helps her remember that science is fun. She loves sharing the journey of discovery with students of all ages.
