Carrie Christie is a native Georgian, life-long student, and lover of and advocate for the arts. Born and raised by two artist-educators in Marietta, Georgia, Carrie began dancing and performing at an early age, studied theatre at Young Harris College and Kennesaw State University, and enjoyed a lively professional career in the late 90s performing in Atlanta in film and television and on stage with The Atlanta Shakespeare Company (Shakespeare Tavern) and Dad’s Garage Theater Company before relocating to pursue acting and creating productions of new and premiere works at Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. Since returning to Atlanta in 2004, Carrie has extended her career behind the scenes at Atlanta Ballet, Georgia Shakespeare, Atlanta Young Singers, the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, and for the past 10 years, at Emory University’s Schwartz Center for Performing Arts. Currently, she is an active volunteer on-air presence hosting during pledge season at Georgia Public Broadcasting, a long-standing member of the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards (Shuler Hensley Awards) Advisory Committee, and an avid hotline volunteer and advocate for RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association. Through RESOLVE, Carrie is currently building a presence of in-town support and camaraderie for anyone experiencing infertility and seeking treatments. She is a 2020 applicant for the Georgia Women’s Policy Institute. Carrie resides in Tucker, Georgia, with her beloved husband, Carl, and their beloved furchild, Gussie (cat).
Jake Krakovsky is a puppeteer, actor, writer, and teaching artist based in Atlanta, Georgia. He has worked with local theater companies including the Alliance Theatre, The Center for Puppetry Arts, Synchronicity Theatre, Found Stages, Theater Emory, and others. In summer 2017, Jake received a Residency Fellowship in ensemble devising from the Collaborative Arts Lab in Arezzo, Italy. In 2018, he worked as a puppeteer on the BAFTA award-nominated BBC series Moon and Me. Jake is currently a 2019-2020 Reiser Atlanta Artists Lab fellow at the Alliance Theatre, developing a new solo theater piece, working title Honors US History. Jake also teaches workshops and coaches performers, from grade school to university-level to professional companies, in puppetry, clowning, and other physical theater skills and traditions.
Rita Nicole Leslie is an Atlanta native, senior copywriter, humorist, storyteller, co-producer and host of Bleux Stockings Society– a monthly reading series that caters to marginalized groups. She puts periods at the end of her "haha's" and "lol's" because her joy is definitive and never overstays its welcome. Angela Mayfield is a communications designer and development director working in international nonprofit administration before moving to academia. In 2012, she retired in order to be a better caregiver to the people she loves and the planet we share. Raised alongside rockets on Florida’s Space Coast, she’s been a proud Georgian for fifteen years. She lives in Douglas County with her husband Jonathan and their dachshund Juniper, where she grows hybrid tea roses, tracks bird and insect migration for community science initiatives, and tinkers as an amateur auto mechanic. Find her under the Gold Dome in 2021.
Melinda Wharton is an infectious disease physician in Atlanta. She’s worked for most of her career on vaccines and immunization. Her three children – now all adults – get flu shots every year.
