Story Collider Presents: Math for America
The Story Collider is proud to be presenting our second show with Math for America, hosting a private storytelling show with stories from NYC public school teacher presented to NYC public school teachers. Hosted by Nisse Greenberg and Gastor Almonte.
This event is being produced in partnership with Math for America. At MƒA, we’ve created fellowships for accomplished mathematics and science teachers. Our model is based on the belief that collaboration, continued learning, and genuine respect enables teachers to grow professionally and provides long-term career satisfaction.
Doors open at 5:15 pm. Show starts at 6:00pm. Tickets are currently sold through the Math for America website.

Jamie Kubiak is the chemistry teacher at Park East High School in East Harlem and has been teaching in NYC for five years. He hails from Michigan where he studied chemistry at Michigan State University and upon graduation, moved out to New York City. He was a New York City Teaching Fellow and earned his M.A.in Teaching from Relay Graduate School of Education. Jamie is an MƒA Early Career Teacher. When he’s not teaching, he loves to spend his time with his partner Caleb as they travel, try new food, hang out with their cat Hermione (who is officially older than all of Jamie’s students this year), and make their podcast, Just Whatever w/ Jamie & Caleb.You can follow his teaching adventures on Instagram and Twitter @kubiakchemistry.
Shaniece Mosley has been a teacher for eight years, and currently teaches chemistry, AP Chemistry, and science research at Midwood High School in Brooklyn. After attending Northeastern University and SUNY Albany, where she received a B.S. in Chemistry, she attended Pace University where she earned an M.S. in Secondary Science Education. A former New York City Teaching Fellow, Shaniece is now an MƒA Master Teacher. She enjoys spending free time with her husband Dan and their 18-month old son Greyson.
Aida Rosenbaum is a high school Earth and Environmental Science teacher at the Bronx Latin School. She is also the science department team leader, a facilitator of the Youth Court, the Gardening Club teacher, a coach of new-teacher mentors, the school EDTech specialist, and a member of the Learning Partners Program working to share best practices between schools. Aida is a native New Yorker who earned her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Mount Holyoke College and her M.P.A. in Earth System Science, Policy, and Management from Columbia University. She has been teaching for 16 years at four different high schools and is currently in her second fellowship as an MƒA Master Teacher. She comes from an entire family of teachers including her grandmother, mother, sister, and husband. In addition to teaching, Aida is a mother of two, a wife, an avid listener of NPR, a bee-keeper, and an outdoor sports enthusiast. You can follow her @AidaTeachesAll on Twitter.
Ricardo Estrada has been an educator for over 10 years, and has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2/Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB. He earned his B.A. in Finance from Baruch College and an M.S. in Education from St. John’s University. Passionate about mathematics, Ricardo teaches at the High School for Sports Management in Brooklyn, where he is always looking for innovative ways to teacher his students. A two-time MƒA Master Teacher, Ricardo has presented at a number of conferences, and has facilitated presentations at i-Learn, COSEBOC, and MƒA. Ricardo lives in Brooklyn, where he enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children.
Meredith Klein is an educator, artist, and athlete. A two-time MƒA Master Teacher and former MƒA fellow, Meredith has been a member of the MƒA community since 2009. She teaches 12th grade math at International High School at Union Square, a school for new immigrant youth from over thirty countries. She writes curricula and regularly facilitates workshops on project-based mathematics and content-area writing for emergent bilingual students. She holds degrees in math, visual arts, and math education, and is a current TESOL certification candidate. Meredith has been featured in Bicycling Magazine, Outside Magazine, on WNYC, and Shift Up for her work in cycling and bike mechanics education for youth and adults.
