Bryan Berlin is a storyteller based in Brooklyn who has written for everything from sketch comedy to reality TV. He's a Moth StorySLAM winner and the creator and host of Love Hurts, a podcast where guests come on and share stories of the tough relationships in their lives. He's recently performed at RISK! and the Speak Up, Rise Up Festival, and his first solo show is premiering at SOLOCOM at the PIT November 23rd at 2pm. Carla Katz is a Jersey born and bred storyteller and comic living in Hoboken. She performs widely in and around New York including in The Liar Show, 'What's Your Story?" at the Fat Black Pussycat, Generation Women and NYC’s Secrets and Lies at Caveat, the Adam Wade from New Hampshire Show at the Kraine Theatre, at Moth StorySlams, and in a variety of shows at the Magnet Theater and the Tank. She has also performed at Speak Up in Hartford, Hoboken's 'On The Waterfront Storytelling Series,' Word of Mouth Storytelling by the Bucks Country Playhouse in Lambertville, Montclair Film Story SLAM series, and This Really Happened at the Hopewell Theatre. Her solo show “Body Parts” debuted at the SOLOCOM 2017 Comedy Festival at the People’s Improv Theater to a sold-out crowd. She is also a labor lawyer, professor, and union leader. Saad Sarwana is a Physicist and Standup Comedian. As a physicist he is chairman of the “United States Committee for Superconductor Electronics” and the author of over 40 peer reviewed publications and two US patents. As a comedian he has been standup and Improvisational comedy for over 20 years, and even won a Moth StorySlam. For 6 years and over 100 episodes Saad was on the Science Channel TV show “Outrageous Acts of Science”. Previously he has told Physics and Math inspired stories for the StoryCollider. Today's chemistry inspired story completes the Trilogy! He lives in Westchester County, NY with his wife and kids.
Tazmin H. Uddin is a New Yorker of Bangladeshi descent. She is an educator who works with youth. Tazmin is an empath, a lover of Love and life, and a dreamer committed to changing the world one smile at a time. Through the Rumi Center for Spirituality and the Arts, she has learned to combine her spiritual and poetic journeys and see writing as a form of spiritual practice. Since 1985 Karen Washington has been a community activist, striving to make the New York City a better place to live. As a community gardener and board member of the New York Botanical Gardens, she worked with Bronx neighborhoods to turn empty lots into community gardens. As an advocate, and former president of the New York City Community Garden Coalition, she stood up and spoke out for garden protection and preservation. As a member of the La Familia Verde Garden Coalition, she helped launched a City Farms Market, bringing fresh vegetables to the community. Karen is also a board member of Why Hunger, and NYC Farm School. As a speaker, teacher and mentor, she leads workshops on growing food and justice across the country. In 2010, she Co-Founded Black Urban Growers (BUGS) an organization supporting growers in both urban and rural settings. In 2012, Ebony magazine voted her one of their 100 most influential African Americans in the country and in 2014 was the recipient of the James Beard Leadership Award. Since retiring from Physical Therapy in 2014, Karen is Co-owner/Farmer at Rise & Root Farm.
