Finding Your Funny - September Elective

CONTINUING YOUR STORYTELLING EDUCATION

Do you want to learn how to be funny on stage? Do you want to understand what is funny about your perspective? This class will walk through what makes you funny and how to stay funny within the context of your stories. Classes will be from 12:00 to 1:00pm on MWF, September 14, 16, and 18th. Admission into this class gives you a free ticket to our online science story slam on September 18th!

What to expect:

This is one of our advanced storytelling courses. We expect you to know the basics of storytelling and the general vocabulary The Story Collider uses to describe and understand stories. If you haven’t taken our introductory course already, please take that first. In this course will really explore how to find what makes you funny and how you can make that shine in your storytelling.

We limit class size to under 12 people in order to make sure there is enough one on one attention.

Class Instructor: Gastor Almonte

Our program:

  • September 14 - What makes me funny?

  • September 16 - Jokes about your self and your perspective

  • September 18 - Jokes as a way of commenting on the moment

  • September 18 (7pm EST) - Optional Story Slam Celebration

TL;DR - Comedian Gastor Almonte will work with you on putting the comedy into your stories over the course of three hour long classes, and you’ll get to enter our monthly science story slam!
