This page is your guide to everything you need to know about hosting your own Story Collider event!

Share the power of true, personal stories about science

Hosting your own science storytelling show isn't just about sharing facts—it's about creating a space where science meets humanity. Stories are more than just words; they're bridges that make complex ideas relatable, believable, and unforgettable. By crafting and sharing personal stories, you’re not only connecting with your audience but also empowering yourself and others to see their place in science, no matter their background.

Diversity and inclusion aren’t just buzzwords; they’re essential to the full picture of science. Every story adds a new perspective, enriching our collective understanding. Research shows that hearing personal stories from scientists can break down stereotypes, inspire new generations, and foster a deeper connection to science. And when you host a storytelling show, you’re not just amplifying voices—you’re actively shaping the future of science, making it more inclusive, diverse, and human! So, why not start your own science storytelling show? It might just change the way someone sees the world—and how they see themselves in it.

Here’s What You’ll Need to Host YOUR Event!

If you’re ready to take the next step and join us in our mission in revealing the vibrant role that science plays in all of our lives, here are three things you’ll need to host your event!

TRAINING

We require all network show producers to complete our Story Coaching Workshop before hosting an event. We offer these workshops online for the public, or you can request a private workshop for a fee by emailing us at workshops@storycollider.org.*

EVENT SPACE

You will need a venue with a seated capacity of approximately 50-100 seats. The venue must also have recording capabilities and AV equipment, including speakers, microphones, and a sound board with an XLR hookup.

AUDIO RECORDER

We require all our live shows to be recorded. In order to get a quality recording that can be considered for The Story Collider podcast you will need an audio recorder such as a Zoom H6 recorder or equivalent.

*If you already have equivalent training or need assistance with the workshop fee, please reach out to our Executive Director at erin@storycollider.org.
